Residence Life and Dining Committee

The Residence Life and Dining Committee acts as a liaison between Loyola Dining and Residence Life administration and students.

Within this context we attempt to present the opinion and needs of students to administrators and conversely, confer the opinion and needs of administrators to students. Secondly, as a linkage between students and administration, we attempt to act as a resource to both parties in helping to unify goals and agendas to the greater benefit of the university.

In order to most directly fulfill these goals, we host weekly meetings between students and Loyola Dining at both the Lake Shore and Water Tower Campuses. During these meetings, students are invited to voice their concerns, put forth their ideas, or simply learn more about Dining matters on campus. In the area of residence life, we meet on a monthly basis with residence life director Romando Nash and are working to grow our relationship with the Residence Hall Association (RHA) to work cooperatively on residence life issues.

Some of our current goals in Dining involve:

  • Incorporating more healthy and sustainable menu items in the dining halls
  • Providing students with better information regarding the quality of their food
  • One of our larger continuous goals has been working with administrators to provide students with the option to use their Rambler Bucks at local restaurants.

Our goals regarding Residence Life involves:

  • Improving the programming presented in the residence halls
  • Assessing student opinion regarding the future of housing at Loyola in an effort to further student input in Loyola’s current process of reassessing on-campus housing

These efforts are being furthered on a daily basis by committee members but none of this would be possible without the input of students. If any student has a question, concern, or idea we would be more than happy to hear it and invite you to contact us.
